Verb used transitively or intransitively - "The MonaLisa was painted by Pablo Picass"
Hello. Thank you for answering my question. Here it goes:
In the passive voice sentence: "The MonaLisa was painted by Pablo Picasso", is the main verb "painted" used transitively or intransitively?
I ask this because in its active version it would be: "Pablo Picasso painted the Monalisa". "painted" would be a transitive verb and its object would be "the Monalisa", but I'm not sure how it works for the passive voice.
Thanks again.
