They could, but I think most English native speakers would use "greenery".

I've picked out these four words from a dictionary. We have only the one word for this meaning in Slovak language. Could those other three words be used when speaking about a large amount of green plants and trees? For example:
"There is plenty of verdure / verdancy / greeness in our town", or should I stick with the word "greenery" for every case?

However I still am curious in what context are those other words used. Are they not used only exist in dictionaries? Are they too formal or bookish?

I probably haven't used verdure or verdancy since I was at university, trying to impress my tutors with my lush vocabulary. I can't for the moment think of a natural sentence in which I'd use greenness. I might use greenery of plants on my balcony; I would use green of the colour of my furniture or walls.

Thank you for the suggestion, Rover, but before I created that sentence I was searching with Google and also on "fraze.it". There were many sentences using all four words, but as we know, the google search results are often written by non-native English speakers, and that's why I don't trust them always, except online dictionaries. I was confused with such an amount of search results and rather asked here.;-)

5jj, I understand what you mean with "lash vocabulary". I also don't use and didn't used some words in my language, and know how it sounds when somebody use such rarely used words.

"Verdant" is used in one English translation of the German Christmas song "O Tannenbaum."

Other than that, it's not a very common word at all.
