Hi teachers,

The following is a sentence which is often used by my country politicians.

Is "Wake up the nation" correct? Can I use an exclamation mark to put stress at the end?

Here are some other words I've searched. Are they close to the meaning?

Is "Liven up the nation" correct and mean the same as the original sentence is?
Is "Create awareness in the nation" correct and mean the same as the original sentence is?

Thanks.

I have no objection to "Wake up the nation" or the other phrases you mention. (What is meant by the person using them is another question.)

:)

Ah, it's in the title. There's no subject, but that's OK.

arouse the nation
stir up the nation
excite the nation

--lotus

There is a subject. It is not explicitly stated, but it is implied. (You.)

:)

It's in the subject, but it's definitely not the "following sentence".
