What does was due to here mean ? expected, arranged or because ?

This is from an article titled How Better Data could Lead to Better Sex from the Economist.

It's more like 'scheduled'. See adjective definition #6 .

Are you sure you copied this correctly? I'd expect to see the past tense "showed".
 
What does was due to here mean - "expected", "arranged" or "because"?
Note my changes above. You needed just one question mark, at the end of the full question (that starts "What does ..."). Never put a space before a question mark.
This is from an article titled How Better Data could Lead to Better Sex from The Economist.
Make sure you capitalise the titles of publications correctly. The article "the" is part of the title of the magazine. Also, put those titles either in italics or inside quotation marks. That includes the title of the article.
