Could anyone please clarify for me the whole meaning of the phrase below?

We could think of such factors as equivalent to a “negative” storage cost for oil in the form of a benefit to your business of having some oil
in inventory, which is referred to as a “convenience yield”.

I wouldn't call it a negative storage cost. It is just a storage cost.
 
It's micro-economics language. A negative cost is a benefit. The writer believes that having extra oil in storage will save the company money.
