Structure of wh sentences when they're in question form but inside a non-question sentence.
I know how wh sentences are structured when you're asking questions with them. V + S
like for example:
where is the bank?
who made this house?
how is your mom? etc..
And also I know that when you're using them in simple sentences they follow S + V structure
For example:
That is how she met your father
That is what she did yesterday
I know a man who is really good at that
But what happens when you're using them in a question way but inside a normal sentence that isn't really a question? This happens a lot in math, which I do daily so I wanted to get this clear.
In particular I would like to know which of the sentences below is the correct one:
-We need to calculate what is the value of x
-We need to calculate what the value of x is
Other examples:
-We need to find out where is cassie located
-We need to find out where cassie is located
-You need to tell me what is your name
-You need to tell me what your name is
-The first thing you need to be worried about is how are your children doing
-The first thing you need to be worried about is how your children are doing
