Are these correct?

1) What does it change who stole my wallet? The important thing is that it is gone.

2) It changes a lot who stole it. He might be a friend playing a prank on you.

I don't know why the first one sounds natural to me and the second one doesn't. However 'It matters a lot who stole it.' sounds fine to me.

I don't know why the first one sounds natural to me and the second one doesn't. However 'It matters a lot who stole it no full stop here' sounds fine to me.
1) is unnatural. To use "change", you'd need something like "What would knowing who stole my wallet change?" The response would be "It would change a lot".
