This is part of a conversation of 'The thick of it' Season 1, Episode 1.

''I've booked you in for the usual soapy tit wank farewell at Number Ten in 20 minutes.''

What does he exactly mean by saying soapy tit wank farewell?.

Is this some kind of usual ceremony or ritual that every person of the governmente does after being sacked or after resigning? I do not really understand the meaning of it.

I am guessing it means a public farewell meeting that the organizers see as attractive to the media, but that is very disappointing to the one who is departing. But we truly need the best of our BrE experts on this one.

I think this a very good deduction but not right. It is very rare in British politics to see a farewell outside No. 10 Downing Street, instead it would be a farewell meeting inside the building in private.

And what does "soapy tit wank farewell" mean?

I am not a teacher.

It's pretty crude language, see here. Heavy with irony and sarcasm, it's comparing an official farewell do with a STW. For those unfamiliar with the word, wank=masturbate.

Very strange.

The TV show " The Thick of It" is known in the UK for its use of fairly crude language, which allegedly parallels the style of some advisors to the British Government in the 2000s.
