A weight of three stones or 42 pounds (19kg).
 
No, it's a weight in its own right.

There are 16 ounces in a pound, and 14 pounds in a stone.
 
No- fourteen pounds is one stone. In the UK we are supposed to have gone metric, but many still stick to the old systems. I don't think that Americans use stones.

Correct. Few Americans have any idea what a stone is.
