What is the difference between "corruption" and "misappropriation"?

What is the difference between "corruption" and "misappropriation"?

Especially, in light of "corruption of assets of an entity" vs. "misappropriation of assets of an entity". What is the difference?

I don't know how assets can be corrupted, unless it is talking about something physical, like rust.
