[Vocabulary] What is the difference between these words-1

Many of the following words imply similar meaning.

But they have a subtle difference, that reflects the idea behind the speaker's perspective.

Oxford dictionary makes no major difference among them, it most of the times states them to be synonym to each other. However in order to improve the utter vocabulary , exact difference among them need to be known.

Plz help if any,


remorse
guilt
regret
repent
 
Helpful, but still a bit confusing and misinterpreting by a non English native speakers.
 
For one thing, guilt can have a legal meaning about responsibility for an act that the others don't- a person can be guilty without having any regret, remorse, etc.
