Hi,

what is the difference between would rather, prefer, would prefer, and would sooner? Why some grammar books for example focus only on "would rather" and not the rest? Is that a matter of naturalness or what?

Would you please make some examples of each?

Take a good look at the similar threads below, and post back if you still need help.

Why do some grammar books, for example, focus only on "would rather" and not the rest? Is that a matter of naturalness or what?
I don't see why that may be; it is not a reflection of the degree of naturalness of those expressions.

Thank you for making the words and phrases you're asking about distinct. It's a big help.

See corrections above. Remember to invert the subject and the verb when forming questions. Add the auxiliary do when no auxiliary verb is available for inversion:

Some grammar books focus on "would rather".
Why do some grammar books
focus on "would rather"?
