Wow. I feel very sorry for the girls at your school!
Well, to be honest, those parochial school jumpers aren't any more or less fashionable than the blouse/skirt/necktie combo worn by schoolgirls in the UK. I was fortunate in that the public schools I attended didn't require uniforms and had no dress code other than no
halter tops or bare midriffs.
(By the way, not all jumpers have that apron front and flared skirt. They also come in
more fashionable designs, made to be worn over a blouse, turtleneck or even a T-shirt.)
(OK, time for all the male members [no pun intended] of the forum to quickly guzzle a beer or watch some sports on TV to shrug off all this girly fashion talk.
