[General] What would be the correct reply?

What should be the correct reply to this statement "My beloved, you're the kind of son my sons should be, but they aren't"?

1. "I don't know if you'd ever wanna have a son like me because I too fight with my mom sometimes"

Or

2. "I don't know if you'd have ever wanted to have a son like me because ....."

The confusion is about whether I should write you'd ever wanna or you'd have ever wanted to

Would you tell me when to use "would want to" & when to use "would have wanted to"????

'Wanna' is generally a spoken form or used in informal writing.
would want to = in the imaginary future- the person probably doesn't have a son but may
would have wanted = in an imaginary past- the person probably has children or has had the opportunity to do so.

WOW!!! Thanks.. totally cleared up my confusion..

so that means whenever I wanna say something that is in imaginary FUTURE, I gotta to use WOULD WANT TO & whenever it's about imaginary PAST, I gotta use WOULD HAVE WANTED TO??
