Hello.

In the sentence "When they try to present us with something such Russian-Russian, necessarily Russian — it is not so interesting" are we the ones being presented (to someone else, perhaps) or are they presenting something to us?

Always tell us the source and author of any text you quote, please, Milana.

Look at the bold part:

"When they try to present us with something such Russian-Russian, necessarily Russian — it is not so interesting"

That means that they present something to us. Notice the preposition with in this construction (present somebody with something).

The whole sentence is a mess, by the way. Please tell us where you heard/saw it.

I'm sorry, I don't know where the sentence is from. Someone asked (on a different forum) to check if their translation of it was correct, they didn't give the context. They didn't ask me specifically so it would probably be rude to ask for the source. Thank you for the help, I really appreciate it!
