Hi,

Nikah is a Muslim marriage. Which verb should I use in the following sentence?

"When will you do nikah?"

Actually I want to use "nikah" in the sentence.

Perhaps:

When will you have your nikah?

(Hey, Jose! :hi:)

It depends on what an English-speaking Muslim would say, I think. I don't know if you celebrate, go through or have (or something else) [a] nikah. Hopefully, someone with the relevant knowledge will be able to tell us.

I told "celebrate" because Untaught88 defined the term as a Muslim marriage, after reading some information about the ceremony:

http://www.qiran.com/marriage/an_nikah_the_islamic_marriage.asp
http://www.singlemuslim.com/marriage_articles/marriage_ceremony.php

And having seen the expression "celebrate the nihak" in some articles:

http://tribune.com.pk/story/818889/...ah-with-sweets-distribution-dholki-and-dance/

Anyway, the expression "go through the nikah" is also in use, and "have the nikah" seems to be the most common.
