1) When you do the rope skipping you hold a rope with your hands and make it go around your body while jumping.

2) When you do the rope skipping you hold a rope with your hands and make it revolve around your body while jumping.

Please check my sentences.

We don't "do the rope skipping". We "skip rope" or just "skip".

make it go/revolve around your body while jumping - jump over a rope swung over (and under) your body

Couldn't we get it down to the essentials?

I can't say why, but both go and revolve around your body sound like the rope rotates horizontally. You need to specify that it moves vertically.

Tufguy, how would you hold the rope other than with your hands?

No, I wouldn't be able to hold it other than my hands. Is my sentence correct?

I hold it with my hands.
I would only hold it with my hands.

Why don't you just say I hold it, then. If you hold something in a less usual way, say it- like holding something in your teeth. Filling sentences with unnecessary information just makes them hard to follow. I think this may have been mentioned a time or two.

I think you're right.

It (the sentence) may technically be grammatically correct, but it is downright weird.

I don't think you should even try to explain it to someone using words. Even a native speaker would struggle to explain it without demonstrating the movements with their arms, hands and feet. If someone doesn't know what it is, just show them a video!

This is where I ask Ems to post a link to a video of girls doing double Dutch. :-D (That's on-topic, isn't it? ;-) )

Well, I'm sure you didn't mean to request video footage only of girls! Here are the highlights of the 2014 Rope Skipping Championships (both sexes).

Thanks Ems!

Well, I'm not going to say they make it look easy, but they do something that's very hard but fun to watch. (I would break my neck. ;-) )
