Hi, Let me ask a question, although I think everyone knows the answer.

What were you doing at six yesterday? or .........yesterday at six?

She was watching TV at five o' clock on Monday. or ....... on Monday at five o'clock.

Is it a difference?
Thanks a lot,
Ewa

Is there a difference between 1a and 1b or between 2a and 2b?

Ewa

The meaning is the same in each case.

Hi, Ewa, and welcome to the forum. :hi:
Is [STRIKE]it[/STRIKE] there a difference?
They mean the same thing. The speaker may be thinking the time is more important in the first and the day in the second; if so, it's a very mild distinction.

Thanks a lot,
Ewa
While we appreciate the sentiment, we prefer that you omit this from your posts and just click on "Thank" when you get a useful answer. It saves us having to delete the last lines to save space when we quote your posts. Once you've made ten posts, you'll be able to add a signature line. It doesn't appear in quoted messages and is a good place to add "Not a teacher" and a few words of gratitude.
