Hello.

Do the following have the same meaning?

1. I think wearing a suit on Christmas Day is too formal.
2. I think wearing a suit is too formal on Christmas Day.

According to the answer key, #1 is correct, but #2 is not.
However, it seems to me that #2 is also okay.

Would you let me know whether I am wrong?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello.

Do the following have the same meaning? They do, but 1. is definitely better. So 1. is the correct one.

1. I think wearing a suit on Christmas Day is too formal.
2. I think wearing a suit is too formal on Christmas Day.

According to the answer key, #1 is correct, but #2 is not.
However, it seems to me that #2 is also okay.

Would you let me know whether I am wrong?

1. "on Christmas Day" should directly follow "suit".

In 2., I would say 'too formal for Christmas Day'.

I agree with you that they are both very natural. I see no difference between them.

I suppose the secend sentence can also be read as follows:

I think ... on Christmas Day.

Although it's probably of no practical use in this sense.
