Sometimes I am disturbed with the model answers provided in a textbook which is compiled by so called Chinese expert in English. Only one of the four choices is right to this sentence and I do not know which is in the writer's eye.

As we have so often said in this forum, compilers of such multiple-choice questions often produce flawed selections of answers. It's not just Chinese writers - native speakers do it as well.

I imagine that I produced some stinkers when I was writing materials back in the 1970s and 80s. I daren't look at them these days.
