Thank you!

What is the (proposed) context?

The 29th Olympic Games was held in China in the year 2008? or in the year of 2008? or in year of 2008?:?:

The 29th Olympic Games was held in China in the year 2008? or in the year of 2008? or in year of 2008?:?:
"The 29th Olympic Games was/were held in China in 2008"

'The 29th Olympic Games were held in China in 2008.'

The words the year before the numerals are usually redundant.
