Hi there!

I know that the first sentence is grammatically correct. However, the second sentence sounds odd. Do you agree ..?

1- The nurse who gave me blood was nice.
2- The nurse who was nice gave me blood.

Thanks in advance :-D

1- The nurse who gave me blood was nice.
2- The nurse, who was nice, gave me blood.

#2 is OK with the commas, but it's true that #1 is more natural.

Thanks for the quick reply and for your kindness as well.

***** NOT A TEACHER *****

(1) I think that your second sentence would be correct in this

situation:

You and Martha, your sister, went to a hospital yesterday. You and

Martha met three nurses. Two were mean; one was nice. You and

Martha did not learn the three nurses' names. Today you went to the

hospital alone to get some blood. When you returned home, Martha

asked:

Which nurse gave you blood?

You answered:

The nurse who was nice gave me blood.

(I think that many native speakers would also accept:

The nurse that was nice gave me blood.)
