In compliance with a two-month prior notice in writing, XXX may alter the maintenance fees at the end of the current maintenance contract. In this case, the Customer may terminate the contract within a month of such notification.

Does the above paragraph make sense to you?

Thanks a lot!

Not a teacher. The company needs to send costumers a paper with a prior notice and it must be "in two months (...)". That's the only way they can alter the fees. The consumer has a month after receiving the paper saying they're changing the fees to cancel the contract, and in case the consumer doesn't cancel after the month has passed, he won't be able to do it arguing that's the reason.

Thanks, but I wasn't looking for an explanation since I wrote the paragraph. I just wanted to know if it's comprehensible to others.

"In compliance with a two-month prior notice in writing.." Can you explain this a little better, what language are you translating from?

It means that XXX must give a two-month notice before altering the fees. I'm translating from German.

Thanks!

What about "In compliance with the two-month notice clause..."?

What about "In compliance with the two-month notice clause..."?

I don't think I need the word "prior" since a notice is usually given in advance.

Why do you think the word "clause" is necessary?

"In compliance with a two-month notice in writing, XXX ...."

You need to comply with something. You're not complying with a notice (the person who receives the notice has to comply with it, but not the sender). You're complying with the requirement/clause/policy of giving two months' notice.

In compliance with the two-month written notice policy...
In compliance with the requirement for two months' notice in writing...

or Bhaisahab's suggestion, of course.

I presume that there is a stipulation or clause in the contract which requires two months notice. I don't think you can make a noun out of "two-months notice".

I guess I could write:

"Subject to a two-month notice in writing, XXX may...."

Or should it be:

"Subject to two months' notice in writing, XXX may...."

Thanks!

I definitely prefer the second.

Would this help?

In compliance with the maintanence contract, the supplier should provide a two-month written notice to alter the maintenance fees at the end of the contractual period. The Customer may choose to terminate the contract within a month of receiving this notification.
