Dear all,

I have doubts about the following sentence:
It would be great if she (and her friends if they are free) come tomorrow.
It seems to me that firstly, one should use Simple Past in the if-clause and secondly, it's necessary to use the singular form instead of the plural one. Could you please confirm or deny?

Use the past tense:

It would be great if she (and her friends if they are free) came tomorrow.

Thanks, Bennevis!
What about the singular/plural form in:
she (and her friends if they are free) come tomorrow.
(if we consider this part as a separate sentence)
I think it is necessary to use 'comes' instead of 'come', isn't it?

Thanks, Bennevis!

She and possibly her friends come...
She - and her friends if they are free - comes tomorrow.
She comes tomorrow.

The interpolated part
does not affect number concord.

Thanks, Bennevis!

"She (and her friends if they are free) comes tomorrow."
Yes, you'd use 'comes' there - if you have to express it that way. It would be better to write: "She comes tomorrow, with her friends if they are free."

Thanks for your help, Afit and Raymott
