There is a sentence which I cannot get properly. Here is the paragraph that contains it in highlight:

The fact that The Economist article was a rare example of a sophisticated
publication clearly highlighting the nonsense that lay behind so
many of the anti-capitalist arguments was also thought-provoking in its
own right. Why is it that there seems to be less high-level advocacy for
the collective importance of brands than seems justified by the facts?

Could you please paraphrase it for me?

I'll take a crack at it:
"Why is there less high profile advocacy for pro-capitalist ideals when the evidence clearly supports them?"

That's not exactly what the author said but it's what I think he's getting at.

I agree with Vic's general sense of the sentence. The sentence specifically mentions "brands".
