You're putting so much thought into me! Thread title added to main body of the thread by moderator Rover_KE)

I want to use that phrase sentence to tell someone they're putting a lot of time and thought into their conversations with me (considering that they're coming up with elaborate psychological theories about my behaviour).

How natural does the phrase sentence sound to you in casual spoken English?

It's not very natural. I'd be much more likely to say: you're reading too much into my actions (or my behaviour).

We don't expect 'elaborate psychological theories' in casual spoken English.

But what if I wanted to compliment them cause I like how obsessive they are?
Perhaps I should try to come up with more basic examples that are more relatable to the average person. I find it a bit hard though, to be honest.

Well, that's not the kind of thing people normally get complimented on. No wonder it's hard to think of anything.

Say: "I'm having a hard time thinking of anything."
