"Red Eye got to the joint at ten-thirty. The driver was a huge stud with a rapper like a girl's. I noticed his big meat-hooks shaking on the steering wheel on our way to the West Side."

Backgound:

Slim and his friend (Red Eye) plan some hustler action. Red Eye brings a third guy to drive their car. This guy is a big one but he is so afraid that his hands shake on the wheel while diving the car. But what does it mean that he has a 'rapper like a girl's'?

I am not at all certain about this, but my best guess is that he had a voice like a girl's.

Hmm. I was almost sure that it means "mouth like a girl's" but I can see now that it's asolutely not obvious.

Yes, mouth is another possibility.

I have never heard that phrase! When I Googled it, all that pulled up was this thread and that book's text. So the phrase must be pretty rare.
