Hi,

Sorry, I think it's quite vulgar, but what exactly does the expression "don't piss me about" mean?

The expression (as I know it) is "don't piss me off" (about something). It means don't make me angry.

That sense applies to that expression in BE too, but 'piss someone about' has another meaning: to waste someone's time with unnecessary details/form-filling/procedural niceties, or saying they need to speak to someone else: 'I've been waiting in this queue for half an hour, and now you tell me I need to join another queue. Stop pissing me about and just stamp the bloody form!'

And 'piss about' (no object) means 'to waste (one's own) time'.

'What have you been doing?'

'Nothing much really - just pissing about.


You're right about it being a bit vulgar.
