A woman told people that her boyfriend had three nipples in public. A guy responded to her boyfriend by saying, " whip it out, whip it out." Questions:
Q1: From the context, I think the guy meant to see the three nipples. But why does the Urban Dictionary refer to 'penis' about this phrase as below? Quote:
whip it out
v. inf. A common phrase used to describe the occasion of a man suddenly producing his penis, often when completely unexpected and for no reason whatsoever.
Jim: See the game last night?
Dave: Yeah, United were unlucky to lose.
Jim: Think they'll sack the manager now?
Dave: They might have to. What do you think Gary?
*Gary whips it out*

Q2: What does 'whip' mean in this phrase except for beating?
Thanks in advance! |

The action that produces this is a "whip like action" from your arm.
When a cop asks to see your driver's license and you flip open your wallet quickly displaying your license, this a whip like action...
So I could say to you " Whip out your wallet and show me your license.", if I was a cop . But I'm not | | The Following User Says Thank You to redcrows For This Useful Post:

A flat stone, held on two sides and then projected across the surface of water, will revolve [spin on its own horizontal axis] as it flies. The spin is created by one side being held more strongly than the other as the stone is thrown. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Anglika For This Useful Post:

Thank you for the info. about "stone skipping" and the explanation. I tried to understood "stone skipping" as skipping over a stone previously. Now I don't have any question about "whip it out". But Why can the stone bounce if we throw it in the water? Usually, if I throw something heavy in the water, it sinks at once.
PS: I got the video about stone skipping from Youtube. Some forumites, especially those who are not familiar about it, can take a look, if you guys are interested in it. YouTube - NZ PUNAKAIKI - Stone Skipping |

Whip it out mainly refers to a male body part, although it has mellowed to also mean taking anything out very quickly -- like a whip is quick. There is another saying "quick as a whip", indicating that whips are obviously fast. But again, you can't really say "whip it out" without it kind of reminding people of the first meaning. | | The Following User Says Thank You to btags For This Useful Post:

Because [a] the stone you throw is flat, not rounded, and [b] you are not throwing it into the water, but attempting to make it bounce off the surface of the water by flicking it horizontally along the surface.

However, for whatever reason, the phrase "whip it out" is often associated with a male exposing himself. See, for example, this scene in Blazing Saddles. When the sheriff announces "Excuse me while I whip this out" the crowd panics because they think he's going to...well....unzip his trousers. However, he just meant he was quickly removing a document from his pocket. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Ouisch For This Useful Post:
