And yet -- irony of ironies -- he and Daphne end up using the Winnebago as their means of escape from Daphne's planned marriage to Donny. See Something Borrowed, Someone Blue, final episode, season 7.

Um, not that I've ever had a secret crush on Niles or anything, but the story arc where he and Daphne finally got together does not exist in my mind.

This is ironic understatement. It usually means that Niles (another character on the TV show) detested the Winnebago.
