Hi,

Please, which one is correct?

ði/ðə ɪvent

I think it is /ði ɪvent/ because event stars with a vowel.

Thanks.

See:
In most varieties of English, /ðə/ is used before consonant sounds and /ði:/ before vowel sounds. /ði:/ is used before vowels if the word 'the' is stressed.

Furthermore, there can often be more than one correct pronunciation according to the emphasis/meaning/register, etc.
