[Grammar] ‘knock off’ VS ‘get off’

There are two sentences:
All the workmen knock off at 4:30.
I usually get off at six o'clock.
Is there any difference in using these phrasal verb or they are absolutely interchangeable?
 
I'd say they're mostly interchangeable. The first is less formal.
