Hello.

I have a question what I should use words in the blank.

“what their data show ( ) you •••”

I thought “that” is correct, but my textbook says “is that”is correct.

According to my textbook, “show”does not function as a verb, so we have to use “is” before “that”.

Why is it correct?? Could you explain me…?

You didn't give me a sentence to look at.

The word "show" can be either a verb or a noun. I can't tell which it is without a sentence to look at.

I would probably say: "What goes in the blank?"

"Could you explain it to me?" is probably the question you need to be asking.

Hello.

I have a question - "What word(s) should I should use words in the blank?"

What their data show _________ you ...

I thought “that” is correct, but my textbook says “is that” space here is correct.

According to my textbook, “show”does not function as a verb, so we have to use “is” before “that”.

Why is it correct? Could you explain it to me?
Please note my corrections above.

Before we continue, please provide the source of that exercise. Saying "my textbook" is not sufficient. We need the title of the book and the name(s) of the author(s). When you post that information, please also include the entire sentence from the exercise (we need to see what comes after "you").
