    Laotian/Lao nationality ?

"I'm Laotian", " I have the Lao nationality" : is this the correct description if you come from Laos ?

So you cannot say it in the same way as "I'm French/British/Danish/American", one always has to use an article "I am a Laotian" ?

You can say it with or without the article.

    How about:
    I'm Lao/a Lao.

The dicrionary defination describes 'Lao' as a countable noun. So I am a Lao is correct. You can see for yourself.Lao: Definition from Answers.com

    Re: Laotian/Lao nationality ?

'I'm Lao' also sounds fine to me. The dictionary definition also says it's an adjective, which is the form I would generally use- I would say British rather than a Briton to describe myself. You'll see it used here in names and as an adjective: Beerlao - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
