Hi,

How are you all?

I want to ask ([STRIKE]about[/STRIKE]) how we can respond, when someone asks us a question in negative form.
I mean "YES-NO" questions.
If someone asks me,"Didn't you attend the exam?",
and/but I actually attended, what can I say?
Yes or no?

And thanks! :-D

If you continue to use chat English, I won't even read your threads :-x

Question:
"Didn't you attendthe exam?"
Possible answers:
"Of course I did."
"Sure I did."
"Yes, I attended it."
"Yes."
"Sure!"

If you said no, it would be the short form of:
"No, I didn't."

Cheers!

I think you will find that most people, certainly the teachers on this site, will object to your use of text-speak and will not be happy to answer your questions if you persist.

No problem and thank you.

Okay, but be aware of the forum rules:
UsingEnglish rules said:
Please don't use 'chatlish'; this is a forum, not a chatroom

This is a forum for discussing the English language. There is no need to write formally, but this is not a chatroom, so please write normal English, with punctuation, capital letters and words written in full; use you not u, I not i, great not gr8, etc. Don't worry about making mistakes, which is normal when learning a language, but do please try to make your English easy to read.

I don't want to scare you, it's just some advice...

Cheers!

Good to know :)
I wanted to tell you my opinion before I come with "rules".
Coming with rules can seem a bit hard and impersonal :)

Another advice:
Your post is very good , but you should not make spaces before commas and other punctuation characters.
Oh ! I see , I'm so sorry , I didn't know about this rule
Oh, I see. I'm so sorry, I didn't know about this rule.
(Probably your version is already alright, except for the spaces.)

The more "good" English you write, the easier it will be for you.
Most of us like to chat, but this won't help us for letters, school, applications, and so on ;-)

Cheers!
