Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

To me he was unweariedly kind and always glad to see me in the galley, which he kept as clean as a new pin.

as clean as a new pin = perfectly clean

Thanks for your efforts.

Regard,

V

Correct. (Delete the comma after 'clean'.)
