I just want some clarification as to which of these two sentences are correct with regard to the term receive/received:
I wasn't sure whether I was going to see you on your birthday so wanted to make sure you receive your present on the day!
Or
I wasn't sure whether I was going to see you on your birthday so wanted to make sure you received your present on the day!
