Justify a statement

Is it possible to use the word 'justify' in the folowing example: Justify the statement 'Education is a two-sided process', inviting students to discussion?

It's possible to use 'justify', but it is asking the people addressed to give only arguments for the case, so it's not really an invitation to discussion.

What should be used then?
Just to put you in the picture, this is the original material of my colleague:
Group Discussion
1. Debate [STRIKE]over[/STRIKE] the thesis: "Training is one of the main human activities."
2. Analyze the fundamental role of science in higher education.
3. Justify the statement: "Education is a two-sided process."

If I wanted students to discuss something, I would use the word 'discuss'.
