Greetings, Sir/Mdm

Are the following sentences grammatically correct? If both are correct/incorrect, kindly help me to understand the grammar rule(s) behind them.

1) He SAW (sense verb) her TAKE (base verb) a slice of cake.

2) Amanda SAW her friend STEALING a pair of earrings at the mall.

Thank you! :)

Both are correct. You could also use "taking" in #1, and "steal" in 2.
