Correct me if I'm mistaken.
1) I'm always on time for class.
2) I'm always on time for appointments.
In sentence #1, is "class" in the singular because it probably refers to a specific class, e.g., my 7 o'clock class on Tuedays and Thursdays, and, on the other hand, sentence #2 in the plural (appointments) because it refers to different appointments with different doctors, at different times?
