How should I read "a 4x100m relay" - 'a four times one hundred meter relay" or "four by one hundred meter relay"? :-?

The "4x400m relay" is frequently simply referred to as the "4 by 4" (in BrE at least).

Just one little question - do you say "a hundred" or "one hundred"?

It doesn't matter much, but I think you'll find that commentators tend to say four by one hundred to distinguish the race from the longer version.
