Thanks to the Yard’s location at the heart of Europe, close proximity to the main transport routes overland and to the important shipping lines as well as rich infrastructure, both the companies are a good place in which to repair ships.

I am in two minds about which of the below-mentioned variants is proper, if any:

nearness,

Rather than rich infrastructure, how about well-maintained infrastructure?

Then you get:

Thanks to the Yard's (Why is that capitalized?) location in the heart of Europe, nearness to the main transport routes overland, and to the important shipping lanes as well as well-maintained infrastructure, either of the companies is a good partner in repairing ships.
