What's the meaning of "move in for the kill" ?

Did you ever watch an animal, like a cat, hunting? They sneak up on their prey, slowly. The idea is to get into range to be able to strike the fatal blow in one motion.

They move in for the kill.

Used figuratively, it means to put yourself into position to achieve whatever goal you are after. Whether it be getting the sale from the client, or getting the girl to go home with you.
