Hi all,
"For a fair playout, the competitions were divided into senior and junior categories."
I was thinking I might have used the word "playout" wrongly since it is stated to be used as a verb.
But if I were to replace with "competition", then I have repeated it twice.
Can you kindly show me what is the best natural way of saying?
Thank you.

In that limited context, I think you are confusing 'playout' with the term 'playoff' which is the more accurate in meaning.

Firstly, competition and competitors are different words, so you wouldn't be repeating the same word.

Secondly, don't be afraid to repeat words. If a word is the right word to use, you should use it.

Fowler's article on Elegant Variation covers this topic thoroughly. This Wikipedia article summarizes it well.
