At the end of the harsh review of the book Racisms: From the Crusades to the Twentieth Century one reader wrote in Amazon.com this:



That is what this book basically is, accept its not even.



I do not understand the part accept its not even. Could you help me with its meaning?

I am as confused as you are. I went to the (negative) review itself, seeking more context, but found nothing that could help answer your question.

I imagine it is written by a non-native, or at least some of limited education, and means something like 'except it's not even-handed'

I assume that "even" should mean something like "fair" or "even-handed".
I certainly agree that "accept" should have been "except" (a common error even from native speakers) and that "it's" was missing its apostrophe.
