Dear Teachers and Native Speakers,

When you see or hear the phrase Solo Acts, what do you first think about: performances by solo artist or just solo artists?

Thank you for your help :)

My first thought was solo artists.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Now I'd like to ask if there is a situation in which the phrase might mean "performances by a solo artist".

Can the phrase solo p erformance be used in the meaning? Or are there better expressions?

On the other hand I think "a solo act" might mean " a performance by a solo artist". Is it possible that it does not have a plural form?

Both solo act and solo perormance can be used in both singular and plural form. Regardless of what we first think when we hear the expressions out of context, we soon adjust our understanding when the context becomes clear.
