It does not mean the same as either "journey" or "travel". But either can be adventurous.

They are not really synonyms. They don't convey much of the meaning of "adventure".
Adventure: "an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity. Daring and exciting activity calling for enterprise and enthusiasm."
Notice that "travel" and "journey" are not mentioned in the definition.
Adventure is basically "an exciting activity" (which might involve travel, but doesn't have to).

A thesaurus does not just give a list of synonyms for a word; it gives words that may be used in place of the original word - in the right context. Your link gives these words for ‘journey’
