Hello! I hope someone can help me space here - I have an English test in two days.

Which sentence is correct?

1) After he had made sure that he had signed the documents, he left his office.
2) After he had made sure that he signed the documents, he left his office.

Thank you! Unnecessary. Thank us after we help you, by clicking on the "Thank" icon, found by hovering over the "Like" button.
Which do you think is correct? Presumably you have been studying these tenses in preparation for your test.

Think it’s no.2 as no.1 just don’t sound right. Do I pass?

I'm confused. Your first answer (which you deleted, saying "Wrong answer - I changed my mind") was "signed" (answer 2). You then said you think it's answer 2 so you haven't changed your mind at all!
Is this exact question going to be part of the test on Thursday?

Sorry, typo. I chose no 1 as the final answer. I have a general English test for grammar. And I came across this sentence with 3 actions. I don’t know if something similar will appear on the use of past perfect. But I would like to know what is the grammar rule when there are 3 actions in order.

1) After he had made sure that he had signed the documents, he left his office.

2) After he had made sure that he signed the documents, he left his office.
The first suggests that he checked that he had signed the documents earlier.
The second suggests that he made sure he remembered to sign the documents.

Please note my corrections above. As a learner, don't try to start sentences with "And" or "But". It's perfectly acceptable in some contexts but it's difficult for learners to get right.

Try:

I think it's number two. Number one just doesn't sound right.

I would probably say:

After he made sure he had signed the documents, he left the office.

By "actions" do you mean "options"?

The first suggests that he checked that he had signed the documents earlier.
The second suggests that he made sure he remembered to sign the documents.
Can you please exlpain why "the second suggests that he made sure he remembered to sign the documents."?

By actions, I meant the 3 verbs : ‘made sure’, ‘had signed’ and ‘left’.

Those are not actions. They are, as you said, verbs or verb phrases.
(Note posts two, six, seven, eight, nine and ten and how they are formatted.)
