Can you help me to put commas in the right places. I was looking at the word “although” on the website and I don’t understand if it’s essential or not.

Chichi is well-behaved although at times he completely disengages and becomes disobedient. He will need more training.
She is unable to attend consistently, which impacts her progress although she tries to attend as often as she can.

Please give us the source of the quoted sentences and the context.

I don’t understand source but this is my homework. I get a little bit of help from a friend. I am writing about a dog trainer and a singer trainer.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for being honest about the source of those sentences. Please understand that we do not do homework for people. That would be counterproductive to the learning process.
I'll try to help you without giving you the answer.
Commas are used in English for many purposes. One is to set off extra information.

A common mistake that people make is to set off "although" with a couple of commas. That's wrong. That word on its own is needed.

In that one, try to identify which words can be taken out without making the sentence ungrammatical. Set off those extra-information words with commas (one before and one after).
She is unable to attend consistently, which impacts her progress although she tries to attend as often as she can.
Again, see what can be set off here, without breaking the sentence.
Do some research online, and try to work out the answer. Then, see what your teacher says. If you're not satisfied with your teacher's feedback, come back here and post below.
Good luck!

Please post again when you have more questions about this one.
