I've been trying to do this since yesterday OR I'm trying to do this since yesterday.

Which tense should I use in this case?

Generally, with "since" use present perfect. I have been trying.

I agree with Barb, by the way when you want to express something that happened in the past and continues so far, You make use of present perfect or present perfect continuous. Of course, it depends. Present perfect continuous is used when the action hasn't finished and continues so far and you want to say how long it's been happening. In this case, you use present perfect continuous. Like the following example about me:
" I've been participating in the forum since March/ for about three months and a half."

P.S. Present perfect continuous has other uses as well. I prefer not to mention them here, because they're not related.

Yes, but in my example there's a word "yesterday".

It's "since yesterday" - i.e. from yesterday until now, past into present.
